Lan Party Regulations
Access and Schedules
The venue will remain open 24 hours a day for the duration of the event. Two distinct areas will be established: a free-access area for visitors and a restricted-access area for participants, which requires official accreditation for entry.
Registered participants, once properly accredited, may enter and exit the participant zone at any time, day or night. For security purposes, the use of the participant badge is mandatory for every entry and exit.
- Minimum Age: Registration is open to individuals aged 14 and over.
- Supervision: Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Nighttime Restriction: Minors under 18 are not permitted to stay in the venue during the night shift (between 11:00 PM and 8:00 AM the following day).
Identification
All Lan Party participants will receive a personal and non-transferable identification badge. This badge must be worn and kept visible at all times. Participants are responsible for their own badges; using a third party’s accreditation, even if they are members of the same group, is strictly prohibited.
The ID serves as the primary tool for accessing the restricted zone and remaining at assigned stations. Staff members may request identification at any moment for identity verification or, in extreme cases, for the enforcement of expulsion. It is essential to keep this identification intact throughout the event.
General Conduct
Participants must adhere to basic standards of civility and commit to the following:
- Treating all attendees and staff with respect and courtesy.
- Avoiding verbal or physical aggression, indecent behavior, or hostile attitudes.
- Maintaining a clean and organized workspace during and after the event (trash bins are provided throughout the hall).
- Keeping aisles clear of materials to ensure the safe movement of participants.
Prohibited Substances
Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the venue, including the use of electronic cigarettes. Smoking is only permitted in designated outdoor areas. This ban extends to bathrooms and hallways. Violators may face expulsion.
Furthermore, the consumption or trafficking of alcohol and illegal drugs is prohibited within the premises. The organization reserves the right to expel any individual under the influence of these substances who causes disruptions.
Software and Intellectual Property
Participants are responsible for their use of the network infrastructure provided. The organization requires full compliance with current intellectual property laws.
- Piracy: Copying licensed software, music, or copyrighted audiovisual material is prohibited and may constitute a crime.
- Prohibited Content: Displaying or sharing pornographic material is not allowed.
- Permitted Transfers: Only original works created by participants or software with permissive licenses (Free Software, Shareware, Freeware, Creative Commons) may be shared over the local network. The organization is not responsible for the content stored on participants’ computers or the files they choose to share.
Network Usage
Local network and internet access are shared resources. Any attempt to sabotage or cause malfunctions (network attacks, bots, viruses, worms, unauthorized DHCP servers, or malware) will result in sanctions and potential expulsion.
The organization is not responsible for the digital protection of participants’ equipment. It is highly recommended that users have updated antivirus software, firewalls, and operating system patches. Constant network service is not guaranteed if disruptions are caused by factors beyond the organization’s control.
Equipment and Electrical Installations
Each participant is provided with one certified power outlet. This connection is stabilized and compliant with current safety regulations. The organization is not liable for any damage to electronic devices connected to these outlets.
- Connectivity: One Ethernet cable is provided per participant. Using multiple cables or swapping cables with neighbors is prohibited.
- Restricted Handling: Only staff members may operate network switches, electrical panels, sockets, or fiber optic lines. Any unauthorized manipulation will result in immediate sanctions.
Noise and Audio
To respect others, individual speakers are not permitted. Ambient music will only be provided through the organization’s general sound system. Participants must use headphones for games, movies, or music. Any speakers or stereos found will be confiscated and returned at the end of the event. Participants are expected to avoid shouting or using air horns.
Security: Theft and Loss
- Theft: If a theft is detected, it must be reported to the security head. While the organization will assist and cooperate with police, participants must file formal legal complaints themselves. Identified thieves will be expelled immediately and banned from future events.
- Loss: Found objects will be kept for a maximum of one month. If unclaimed after this period, they will be disposed of. The organization is not responsible for any theft or loss occurring during the event.
Appliances and Fridges
The four power outlets per participant are strictly for computer equipment. The use of household appliances or fans is prohibited as they can cause voltage drops and power outages.
- Food and Drink: Participants may bring their own food and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Fridges: Only non-electric portable coolers (ice chests) are allowed. Any cooling system requiring electrical power (220v, USB, or PC power supply) is prohibited and will be confiscated until the end of the event.
Right of Admission
The organization reserves the right to deny participation or expel any individual whose conduct is deemed offensive, illegal, or harmful to the image of the event or third parties.
